Held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, the tournament aims to celebrate female sports talent and promote the benefits of sports among women. Starting October 16 and running through October 30, 2024, this year’s tournament features eight diverse sports including bowling, running, padel, badminton, cycling, shooting, hurdles, and a new addition: 3×3 basketball. The events will be held across various venues in Dubai, such as the Dubai International Bowling Centre, Expo City Dubai, and the Just Padel Club.
Registration for the tournament opens on September 3 and will close on October 4. Interested participants must register through the tournament’s website (https://shwt.dubaisc.ae/), where institutions need to create accounts and upload necessary documents. To support participants, the committee offers pre-tournament training sessions at various facilities, including the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center and the BIA Warrior Club.
The tournament begins with bowling on October 16 and will proceed with events scheduled as follows: running on October 17, padel from October 18-20, badminton from October 21-24, cycling on October 25, shooting on October 26, obstacle courses on October 27, and concludes with the 3×3 basketball championship from October 28-30.
This festival not only aims to highlight women’s athletic prowess but also serves as a platform to encourage participation from female employees across government, semi-government, and private sectors. The event, organized by the Dubai Sports Council, continues to grow each year, reflecting its significant role in promoting women’s sports and fostering a healthy, active lifestyle.
