Our Correspondent

Dubai tourists can avail a wide range of discounts at shops, restaurants, hotels and shopping centres using a special smart card on their phones.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) has stated that all tourists in Dubai can download the free application Al Saada Tourist Smart Card on their smartphones to avail special discounts during their visit to the emirate. The app has a map to show the locations of all the stores where the discounts can be availed.

The new initiative was launched by Sami Al Qamzi, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economic Development, and Major General Mohammad Al Marri, Director-General of GDRFA-Dubai, at GITEX Technology Week 2020 on December 10.

According to GDRFA, a tourist should register the smart discount card by entering the passport number and date of arrival to enjoy the discounts. Tourists can scan the barcode to download the app on their phones when they reach the Passport Control counter.

Dubai’s Gitex visitors can enjoy a virtual tour at the GDRFA platform to learn about its new and innovative projects. GDRFA-Dubai shows a ‘Dubai Now’ application that includes 15 services provided by GDRFA-Dubai such as issuing, renewing, or cancelling residency for all family members, viewing status of residence visas and entry permits, and requesting official travel reports for the sponsored. Visitors can also check the Golden visa platform to know all details required to get the 10-year residency.
