Dil Bechara breaks records, becomes IMDb’s top rated Indian movie

Sushant Singh Rajput is weaving magic even after he left the world. The last movie of the late actor Dil Bechara premiered on Disney Plus Hotstar on July 24. Within minutes of its release, the film topped the IMDb ratings. Though the rating has gone up to 10, the movie currently has an IMDb rating of 9.8 on 10 with 21,000 votes.

It has also gained the first position on IMDb’s ‘Top Rated Indian Movies’ list beating Kamal Haasan and R Madhavan’s 2003 Tamil film Anbe Sivam.

Fans of the late actor got emotional seeing his last journey and took to Twitter to express their emotions about the movie.

One Twitter user wrote, “#IMDb 10/10 IMDB. What a record breaking Performance by the audience in Ratings. And a finest Tribute to the finest actor RIP Folded handsBouquet* #SushantSinghRajput * A very nyc performance in his last movie (sic).”

Another tweeted, “10/10 on #IMDb Record breaking. Never ever happened to any movie. #DilBechara”

This film is a remake of 2014 Hollywood romantic drama The Fault in our Stars based on John Green’s bestselling novel with the same name. The Hindi remake tells the story of Kizie and Manny who are cancer survivors and their beautiful bond.

Dil Bechara marks casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s directorial debut. The debutant Sanjana Sanghi plays the female lead in the movie. Apart from Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi, Dil Bechara also features Swastika Mukherjee and a special appearance from Saif Ali Khan as well.

Sushant was found hanging at his Bandra residence in Mumbai on June 14. The news of his sudden demise left all his fans in shock and as a tribute to the late actor Sushant’s fans had requested the makers to release the film in cinema halls and made hashtag #DilBecharaOnBigScreen.
