Diesel price hiked again, petrol price remains unchanged

While the price of petrol has remained unchanged for about a fortnight in India, diesel touched new highs on Wednesday in the national capital after another rate hike. Diesel price went up by 11 paise per liter, after a four day hiatus.

Now the price of petrol stood at Rs 80.43 per liter in Delhi and that of diesel was at 81.18 per liter.

In a rare occurrence, the price of diesel remains slightly higher than diesel in the national capital .However in other metros, petrol continues to be slightly pricier than diesel.

On June 7, Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum – which account for the majority of fuel stations in the country – returned to the normal practice of daily price reviews following a hiatus of nearly seven weeks.
