Dhanya Ravi among 2020 Honoree of D-30 Disability Impact List

Ms. Dhanya Ravi, a TEDx and JoshTalk speaker, has been named as one of the honorees in the list of D-30 Disability Impact List, which was launched by Diversability – Disability Empowerment, an award-winning global movement. The movement was launched to mark the significance of the 30th Anniversary of the Americans with Disability Act.

The list intends to honour the unique accomplishments of impactful community members doing great work globally.
Dhanya, born with a rare genetic disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), is known as India’s glass women. She is the recipient of State and National awards.

“I am so happy and grateful for being named to the D-30. I consider this as a sign of love and support from the universe towards my humble efforts,” Dhanya said on being intimated about the honour.

Thanking all the judge for this unique opportunity, Dhanya congratulated 29 other  recipients and expressed her gratitude to all for  love and support.

A professional freelance content writer and disability evangelist, Dhanya has addressed around 4,000 people globally. Her life strong instils confidence and has empowered many differently-abled people to improve their lives and careers despite their challenges through her lifeexperiences.

Currently, Dhanya is active in mobilisation and sensitisation for OI individually and in collaboration with various non-profit organisations (NGOs) in India and the United States. She advocates genetic and early diagnosis of rare disease through public talks, fundraisers and awareness programmes.

One of the founder trustees of Aasmaan Foundation Trust, the content writer and motivational speaker is one of facilitators for an inclusive dance group called “The Invincible”. She also volunteers audio reads for persons with visual impairments.

Dhanya’s life stories and experience of meeting different people from around the globe through the Disability Awareness and Advocacy Program have brought many testimonials from youths and elderly persons from distinct occupation.
