Dense Fog Engulfs UAE, Prompting Red and Yellow Alerts in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Al Ain

Dubai : A thick blanket of fog enveloped major parts of the UAE early this morning, significantly reducing visibility and prompting the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) to issue red and yellow fog alerts for regions including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Al Ain.
Hazardous Driving Conditions
Motorists are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution, as visibility has dropped to less than 1,000 meters in several areas. The NCM’s alert remains in effect until 9:30 AM. Particularly dense fog was reported in Dubai South during the early hours, severely disrupting visibility on key roads.

In response to the hazardous conditions, Abu Dhabi Police have activated a speed reduction system, limiting speeds to 80 km/h on select roads, including:
Ghayathi – Bidae Road

Abu Dhabi – Al Ain Road (Tilal Swaihan – Kubri Bridge)

Al Saahil Station – Hameem Road

Madinat Zayed – Al Mirfa Road

Abu Dhabi – Al Ain Road (Rimah – Al Khaznah)

Al Ain – Dubai Road (Al Jubaib – Al Hiyar)
Motorists are urged to drive with headlights on, maintain safe distances, and avoid sudden braking due to low visibility.

Weather Forecast
According to the NCM, today’s weather will remain fair to partly cloudy, with a chance of convective rain clouds forming over eastern mountainous regions by the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to soar, with highs ranging from 35°C to 40°C inland, 34°C to 39°C along the coast, and 31°C to 36°C in mountainous regions.
Conditions will remain humid tonight and into Sunday morning, particularly over coastal and internal western areas, increasing the likelihood of further fog or mist. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally freshening from the northwest to northeast at speeds of 10–25 km/h, gusting up to 35 km/h.

Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather information and adhere to safety guidelines issued by authorities.
