India on Monday reported 27,071 new Covid-19 infections, taking the country’s total to 98,84,100.
With 336 new deaths, the toll mounted to 1,43,355 as of Monday, with total active cases at 3,52,586.
The health ministry said that more than 70 percent of the deaths occurred due to comorbodities.
The total discharged cases are at 93,88,159 with 30,695 new discharges in the last 24 hours.
The COVID-19 caseload of the country remained below 4 lakh for the eighth consecutive day on Monday. The national recovery rate is at 94.98 percent, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.45 percent.
India’s Covid-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23 and 40 lakh on September 5.
It went past 50 lakh on September 16, 60 lakh on September 28,
70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29 and surpassed 90 lakh on November 2.
A total of 15,45,66,990 samples tested for COVID-19 up to December 13. Of these, 8,55,157 samples were tested yesterday said Indian Council of Medical Research.
On December 13, Delhi recorded 1,984 fresh Covid-19 cases which pushed the infection tally to 6.07 lakh, while the death toll crossed the 10,000 mark with 33 new fatalities.
These fresh cases came after conducting 72,335 tests including 35,611 RT-PCR tests, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Delhi health department.
With over 98.57 lakh total coronavirus cases, India’s active caseload continues to decline and is currently below 3.6 lakh, the union ministry of health said.
