COVID-19 treatment center set up at Angamaly

COVID-19 First Level Treatment Center has been set up at Angamaly Adlux International Convention & Exhibition Centre for Non-Resident Keralaite who arrive at the Cochin International Airport. The center, which can accommodate 200 people, will become operational on Tuesday. The center is close to the national highway within 10 km of the airport.
Entry will be for Category A patients. The treatment facilities are for 75 women and 125 men. The beds are arranged in separate sections for men and women.
There will be two doctors and eight staff nurses at the facility. Special rooms are provided for duty personnel to wear and change personal safety equipment. There is also a system for checking the samples of patients.
Patients who do not exhibit symptoms but are COVID-19 positive would be treated at the centre. If the patients are more likely to exhibit symptoms and if there is a change in their health status they will be shifted to Ernakulam Medical College, Kalamassery.
Food for the sick is delivered through private catering services. There is also free WiFi for those in treatment. Superintendent of Angamaly Taluk Hospital. Nazima is the nodal officer.
