BCCI President and former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly was forced to go to home quarantine after his brother Snehashish Ganguly was tested positive for coronavirus. Snehashish, who is currently admitted to the Belle Vue Clinic is currently serving as the Joint Secretary of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).
“He was suffering from fever for the past few days, and his latest test result came positive. He has been admitted to the Belle Vue Hospital,” a CAB official said.
Snehashish was moved to Sourav Ganguly’s residence recently after his wife and in-laws at his Mominpur residence were tested positive for the deadly pathogen. As Snehahish stayed with his younger brother Sourav for the past few days, the legendary cricketer was compelled to go in home quarantine as a part of the COVID-19 treatment protocol.
“The reports arrived late in the evening. As per health protocols, even Sourav will have to be in home quarantine for a stipulated period,” a close source to Ganguly said.
In a recent interaction with media, Sourav had spoken about the way in which the coronavirus outbreak has affected sports in India.
“I can see light at the end of the tunnel. All of us want to see light, because we wait to get out of this, and see normal lives back where we can hug each other, shake hands with others without being scared, and sit next to each other without being scared. Sports has started, football has started, tennis has started, which is good because life can’t wait,” Ganguly said to media.
