There were over 86,100 active COVID-19 cases in India while the death toll from the virus rose to 4,531, while 67,691 people were cured or discharged, according to India’s Ministry of Health.
Over 5.71 million people have been reported infected with the novel coronavirus globally and 354,909 have died, reports said.
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
With nearly 57,000 COVID-19 cases, Maharashtra has reported the highest number of infections, followed by Tamil Nadu with 18,545 cases, Delhi with 15,257 and Gujarat with 15,195 cases.
