Condolences pour in from the UAE

Diplomats and officers at the Indian Embassy observe a moment of silence in memory of the Dubai-Kozhikode flight crash victims.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, tweeted his condolences over the tragic crash of an Air India Express plane from Dubai to Kerala on August 7.

“We share our heartfelt condolences with our friend PM @narendramodiand all the people of India affected by the tragic plane accident, and the recent flooding. You remain in our prayers during these difficult times.”

The Indian missions in the UAE observed a moment of silence in memory of the ill-fated Dubai-Kozhikode flight crash victims on August 9.

Diplomats and officers, led by the heads of missions, at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai prayed for the victims of the Air India Express IX 1344 crash.

The Embassy tweeted, “All officers and staff members of the Indian Embassy led by Ambassador Pavan Kapoor prayed for the victims of the accident involving Air India Express flight IX 1344 from Dubai to Kozhikode. We wish speedy recovery of all the injured.”

The Consulate also had a remembrance meeting led by Consul-General of India to Dubai Dr Aman Puri. It wrote on Twitter, “CGI Dubai observed two minutes silence in memory of victims of IX 1344 Dubai to Kozhikode and wished for speedy recoveries of THEinjured. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families.”
