Commerce Minister receives Iranian Official

Muscat: Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion today received Syed Mohammad Atabek, Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This meeting came within the framework of the Joint Oman-Iran Committee’s meeting.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed means of enhancing trade relations between Oman and Iran, as well as means of attracting further investments in various promising sectors. They also underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral relations, trade exchange and economic cooperation.
The two sides also touched on the draft MoU for mutual cooperation in the field of exhibitions, as well as the draft agreement for encouraging and protecting mutual investments between the two countries and the draft agreement for cooperation in the field of customs.

The meeting was attended by Ibrahim Ahmed Al Muaini, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mousa Farhang, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Sultanate of Oman and several officials from both sides.
