Dear Raj Sir,
Your views and vision are thought provoking. Your concepts about education is well defined. In this article the feel you expressed connecting your life is very valid. A good teacher should connect life into the concepts in topics to make children convince and create curiosity. Your ambition , turning point in your life are relevant. Also the quote from Steve "Stay hungry, stay foolish" is pertinent. Under the same title there is a bestseller book written by Rashmi Bansal about the success stories of 25 IIM graduates. Really students should read!. To acquire knowledge the hunger should be there, thirst for knowledge and stay foolish, even if people say foolish you should go ahead with your passion and dedication to achieve the goal. We should not only teach students to celebrate success but also failure to learn further and attain success.

Good teachers are the single most important factor that contributes to student achievement in the classroom, more important than facilities, school resources and even school leadership. The most important value that most teachers hold is that of knowledge and their commitment to instilling this value in their students. While many students find learning to be "boring," teachers strive each day to encourage students to love learning and truly engage themselves in the pursuit of knowledge.
Teachers uphold compassion for others as a core value. Teachers exhibit compassion in their daily lives by relating to students' educational abilities and helping to create a curriculum that works for them. They should be loved and instilled with human qualities!

Comment on Teachers as role models in classrooms by Murali nair

True sir. You have brought an important subject that all educators should concentrate. Your observations as an educator is appreciable. We are living in an age where role models are becoming scarce in a every field..politics,education,medical, administration.... But teaching is a profession bringing out all other professionals. That is the importance/nobility of teaching profession.
There are many reasons why students think of teachers as role models. One of the biggest reasons is the desire to become a role model for students to look up to, to learn from, and to remember for the rest of their lives. Everyone has felt the power and lasting presence of an effective teacher, who also had a bigger impact. Whether it’s learning the value of community service, discovering a love for a particular subject, or how to tap the confidence to speak in public, teachers are the ones who light the way for us in this world. There will always be students who don’t like school, and the last thing they want to do is sit there and learn. It is our job as educators to show them that learning is fun, and it can take you to amazing places in your future. Showing students how important education is can be hard when they don’t have those role models in their lives outside of school.
Teachers are not in classrooms to finish the portions only. They should mould a well round personality from every child, like a sculpturist bringing out a beautiful sculpture from a raw stone. Teachers should encourage them to think for themselves. Treat classroom like a group of individuals, and celebrate their diversity. Create activities and discussions that foster conversations and discovery about who they are, and how they can appreciate the differences between each other. This type of focus from time-to-time will build a stronger bond between your students. Also, an environment of trust will build, which can relax the atmosphere and help students focus more on learning. It’s also important to help students understand the way they learn, and encourage them to explore those parts of themselves as well.
In dressing, behaviour, accepting mistakes, respecting others, keeping promises, showing empathy etc should be learnt from classrooms.
Without interpersonal relationship strong bonding can't be built. I have seen , even after one year of teaching, teachers not knowing the names of all students, students not remembering the name of teacher.
At the same time, I also advise the parents to show respect to teachers.(not ridiculing /abusing,finding fault with teachers in front of their children,) heads of schools also showing respect to teachers and authorities to pay them decently, in order to encourage professionalism..
Raj sir, your thinking and outlook as an educationist is much admirable! Kudos!

You are right sir. Strong binding between teacher and students make a happy classroom.
Teacher far away means students are far from school.
Teachers building rapport with their students and establishing themselves as their mentors is an excellent way to keep struggling students from falling behind and close the achievement gap in education.

Personal connection with their students can also raise their motivation to learn. Personal attention, love and care develop a love of learning that will benefit them for their entire lives. They’re also more likely to have positive attitudes towards their teachers, classes, and lessons. When students focus less on grades and more on mastery, they’re on their way toward a successful school career.

Lastly, these relationships can even tie into social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum. Positive teacher-student connections can help children develop self-regulation skills, particularly autonomy and self-determination.As students learn how to evaluate and manage their behavior, they’ll be able to reach their personal and academic goals. Beyond academic success, good relationship with students can improve classroom behaviour management. When struggling students are treated as bad or unintelligent by their teachers, they’re unlikely to change. But when teachers make an effort to care about and help them, these students are more than capable of growth.

Well said sir.
Schools play a vital role in producing TQP.
( Total Quality People-- People with character, integrity, good values, and a positive attitude. ) Our actions are influenced by our attitude. Positive attitude bring us SUCCESS! Why some people fail, some people succeed? Simple answer is their attitude. Most successful people are TQP!!!

Famous quote, - Attitude not Aptitude decides our Altitude !
In class room teachers can adopt the following for bringing positive attitude:

1.Teach Positive Actions
Teach students positive behaviors in a systematic way;

A.The importance of doing positive to feel good about themselves.
B.Positive actions for a healthy body (such as nutrition, exercise, and sleep).
C.Positive actions for the intellect (such as thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills).
D.Positive actions for self-management (such as managing time, energy, emotions, and other personal resources).
E. Positive actions for getting along with others (such as treating others fairly, kindly, and respectfully).
F.Positive actions for being honest with yourself and others (such as taking responsibility, admitting mistakes, and not blaming others).
G.Positive actions .for improving yourself continually (such as setting and achieving goals).

Instill Intrinsic Motivation.
Give all students equal acceptance. Even a teacher calling a student by the name will cheer up a student. Recognition and appreciation is important.
Students who have positive relationships with teachers are more engaged in learning. ...

Teach them how to learn from failure. FAIL is First Attempt In Learning!
Tell students about great men's success stories through their failures.

Positive attitude only bring right character right character bring right actions and right actions lead to success!!!

Why some people fail, some people succeed? Simple answer is their attitude. Most successful people are TQP!!!

Famous quote, – Attitude not Aptitude decides our Altitude !
In class room teachers can adopt the following for bringing positive attitude:

1.Teach Positive Actions
Teach students positive behaviors in a systematic way;

Teach them how to learn from failure. FAIL is First Attempt In Learning!
Tell students about great men’s success stories through their failures.

Positive attitude only bring right character right character bring right actions and right actions lead to success!!!
