Captain America passes on his ‘shield’ to a boy who saved his sister from a dog-attack

On July 9, in the US, a brother Bridger Walker risked his life after coming in between his sister and a dog who was running towards her.

Without thinking about himself, he jumped to save his little sister. Bridger sustained injuries but ended up saving his sister from the attack. The six-year-old who is no less than a hero was bitten multiple times on the face and the head.

He apparently grabbed his sister’s hand and ran just to protect her from the attack. Bridger required two-hour surgery and 90 stitches on his face.

Moved by the story, Chris Evans came forward to appreciate this fearless act. He promised the six-year-old a unique gift that only heroes deserve which happens to be an authentic Captain America shield. The Captain America star conveyed it directly to the brave boy through a video message.

Chris Evans appreciated what Bridger had done for his sister.

When Walker’s father asked him why he jumped in between his sister and the dog, he is said to have told them, “if someone had to die, I thought it should be me,” according to the statement from the family obtained by a news media.

The young boy also caught the attention of another star too. Anne Hathaway was also amused by the boy’s brave act.

“I’m not an Avenger, but I know a superhero when I see one,” Hathaway wrote on Instagram alongside photos of Bridger and his sister. “I can only hope I’m half as brave in my life as you are in yours, Bridger. Wishing you an easeful recovery, and many cool looking rocks. Hey @markruffalo, do you need a teammate??” she said through a tweet.

The family reportedly said that Mark Ruffalo, Tom Holland, Hugh Jackman, Zachary Levi, the Russo brothers and Robbie Amell have reached out to them to appreciate the boy.

Meanwhile, the Avenger star has launched his own website A Starting Point (ASP) and this website is probably not what fans would expect from a Hollywood biggie.

ASP focuses on fact-based discourse about the biggest political issues and policies that are important to the Americans. The actor is known for his interest in politics and was vocal about the crass approach of US President Donald Trump.
