China’s Higer Launches Next-Gen V-Series Buses in Dubai, Marking 19 Years in UAE

Dubai: Higer Bus Company, China’s leading bus manufacturer, unveiled its latest V-Series buses in Dubai on May 27, in collaboration with its UAE partner, KHF Automotive Group. The launch event, held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, brought together key stakeholders, including government officials, media, and industry partners.

The event marked Higer’s 19th year of operations in the UAE and celebrated the long-standing partnership with KHF Automotive. “For nearly two decades, our collaboration with Higer has been integral to KHF Automotive’s success,” said Khalid Al Qassim, CEO of KHF Automotive. “Together, we’ve consistently delivered innovative, reliable transportation solutions to the UAE market.”

A Global Model Tailored for the UAE

The newly launched V-Series has already been introduced in over 20 countries, with more than 5,000 units delivered globally. The series has received acclaim for its advanced maneuverability, fuel efficiency, and premium craftsmanship.

Gary Jiang, Overseas General Manager at Higer, highlighted the significance of the launch: “The V-Series represents a new chapter for Higer in the UAE. It’s the result of three years of development using Integrated Product Development (IPD), with nearly $60 million invested in R&D and equipment.”

With exports to over 150 countries and regions and a cumulative export volume of more than 71,000 units, Higer has supported major global events such as the Doha Asian Games and FIFA World Cup. In the UAE alone, nearly 2,000 Higer buses are currently operating across sectors like school transport and tourism.

V-Series: Engineered for the UAE Environment

The V-Series is engineered specifically for demanding regional conditions:

  • Anti-Corrosion Enhancements: Incorporates high-precision SMC composite panels, aluminium alloy compartments, and electrophoretic coatings to combat the UAE’s coastal humidity.
  • Dust and Sand Protection: A redesigned sealing system and precision manufacturing increase resistance to fine particles and harsh desert conditions.
  • Heat Optimization: Diesel models feature an Intelligent Engine Cooling System (ATS), improving fuel efficiency by up to 3% per 100 km and reducing vehicle noise.
  • Versatile Models: The UAE market will access the full V-Series range—spanning 8 to 12 meters—designed for tourism, staff transport, intercity transit, and more.

A Strategic Milestone

According to Higer, the V-Series is its most comprehensive systems engineering project to date, incorporating modularity, platform-based design, and standardized technology. These advancements allow for improved reliability, faster model upgrades, and a more sustainable public transport offering.

“The V-Series delivers higher returns with lower operating costs,” said Gary Jiang. “This launch not only elevates Higer’s footprint in the UAE but also supports the country’s shift towards more efficient and environmentally responsible transportation solutions.”
