Nine of the 23 completed houses built by Muthoot Pappachan Foundation for the flood-affected in Pathanamthitta district.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan handed over the keys of 23 of the 48 houses built by Muthoot Pappachan Foundation as part of the Rebuild Kerala Mission for the flood-affected in Pathanamthitta district on Friday. The 23 houses are in Chittar, Mezhuveli and Kadamabanad while the remaining 25 of the 48 houses are fast nearing completion in Kadapra and Ayiroor.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said Muthoot Pappachan Foundation has also bought the land for the project in Chittar while in other places, the Government of Kerala has given the land. “Only an establishment with strong social commitment could do such an act of charity and I congratulate Muthoot Pappachan group for the same,” he said.
In his presidential address, Thomas John Muthoot, CMD, Muthoot Pappachan group, said the project is part of the CSR activities of the Foundation going on for the past many years. For this project, the Foundation has spent Rs.4.88 crores. The beneficiaries were chosen by the Government of Kerala.
The function was also attended by Anto Antony MP, MLAs including Adv K U Janeesh Kumar, Chittayam Gopakumar and Veena George; Pathanamthitta district collector Dr. Narasimhugari T L Reddy; Dr. Prasanthkumar Nellickal, Head CSR, Muthoot Pappachan group, and Manoj Ravi, VP and Business Head (South India), Muthoot Fincorp, among others.
