Chairman of Ramjanambhoomi Trust confirmed with COVID-19

Maharaj Nitya Gopal Das, the head of Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, has been now tested positive for COVID-19. During the temple ceremony that was held on August 5 week, Nitya had shared some moments with Indian prime minister Narendra Modi.

A recent report published in ANI suggests that UP chief minister Yogi Adithyanath has apparently asked the health authorities to give the best available treatment to Gopal Das.

One hundred and seventy-five people had attended the foundation stone laying ceremony that was carried out in Ayodhya last week. During the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared the stage with Mohan Bhagawat, Adithyanath, Anandiben Patel, and Maharaj Nithya Gopal Das.

As Gopal Das has been now tested positive for coronavirus, all the people including Modi who were direct contactees will be asked to go for a compulsory quarantine. Several images of the foundation laying ceremony have already gone viral on the internet and in these photographs, clearly shows Modi interacting closely with Nithya Gopal Das.

A few days back, Home Minister Amit Shah was also tested positive for coronavirus. The minister is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital in Gurugram.

According to the latest updates, there are more than 2.3 million coronavirus positive cases in India, and the total number of deaths has crossed 47,100.

Gopal Das, now in Mathura, has fever and shortness of breath. Mathura District Magistrate S.R. Mishra said he would be shifted from Mathura to Medhanta Hospital soon.

The fact that Gopal Das was not wearing a face mask during the ceremony had been widely criticised even on the day of the ceremony.
