Salman Khan, a prominent figure in the Indian film industry, is indeed known for both his substantial earnings and his philanthropic efforts. According to the Times of India, his net worth is reported to be 2900 crores, which places him among the highest-paid actors in the industry. Despite his immense wealth, Salman is known for leading a relatively modest lifestyle in terms of his living arrangements, residing in a one-room apartment.

Salman has been active in charity work through his Being Human Foundation, which has gained significant attention and support. In a recent television interview, Salman clarified that while he does save a portion of his income—around ten percent—the claim that he spends 90 percent of his earnings on charity is not entirely accurate. He acknowledged that while he is committed to charitable causes, his financial contributions are balanced with other responsibilities, such as taxes.

Salman Khan’s lifestyle reflects his personal preferences. Unlike many of his Bollywood peers, he prefers not to indulge in extravagant mansions or bungalows. Instead, he cherishes his 150-acre farmhouse in Panvel. Among his collection of luxury vehicles, his bicycle holds a special place. Salman has a history of using his bicycle to travel to shooting locations, showcasing his down-to-earth nature despite his fame and success.

Despite success, her head will never be in the clouds, Nushrratt Bharuccha has always been realistic and grounded. She knew that she reached a place where she had her own standing. She is not part of any rat race. And that humility and confidence is reflected when she sat for the interview.

Nushrratt Bharuccha has been in Bollywood for more than 12 years. She is slowly yet steadily climbing the ladder of success with every passing film in Bollywood. Her last release ‘Dream Girl’ with Ayushmann Khurrana was a superhit and her upcoming ‘Chhalaang’ with Rajummar Rao has already made the audience eager to watch it.

The actress was noticed by several people for her act in films like ‘Pyar Ka Punchnama’, ‘Pyar Ka Punchnama 2′ and ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’, which were all commercial blockbusters.

The girl with an earthy vibe is now in a calm mindspace and is looking forward to Hansal Mehta’s ‘Chhalaang’ releasing on November 13 on Amazon Prime Video.

Talking about her role Neelima in ‘Chhalaang’, Nushrratt says, “I am playing the role of a computer teacher. It is one of first roles where I am playing a girl from small town.”

While she talked about playing each character, it reveals that she is the master of her craft. She says that she didn’t attempt to make her character unique. “If I wanted to do the character Neelima in a different way, I could do it differently and that will be interesting to watch too. The point here is not to focus on how different I can do the character but stay true to the nature of the character. I see how each character in a film contributing. I understood Neelima from that point of view, and then I made characteristics about her depending on what she is giving to the film and other characters in the film.”

Although she and Rajkummar Rao worked together in Dibakar Banerjee’s anthology, Love Sex Aur Dhokha in 2010,this is the first time they are paired together. “I worked with him Love Sex Aur Dhokha with him but we didn’t star opposite each other. After LSD we wanted to work together but never happened, we kept meeting on and off all these years at parties and award functions. I have always felt that even if our paths were very different after LSD, I always felt that he is part of my close circle.”

Mentioning her nerves about working with such a multi-talented actor Nushrratt has nothing but praise for Rajkummar, “It was just amazing to be on a film set with him to see how he works and how he uses all his learning and skills for his character. I learned a lot.”
Working with national award winner Hansal Mehta came to her quite unexpectedly. “I didn’t think he would cast me. He was sure that I would be great as Neelima. The fact that he could see me as good actor was rewarding compliment. It gave me the confidence to work harder to do better for him and the film,” she says.

Apart from her passion for acting in films, Nushrratt found a new hobby during the lockdown. “I enjoyed cooking. I found new tastes and cuisines and tried my hand at it. I wont say they are the best, but I liked it.”

Like everybody else, the actor is uncertain about what to expect as the films shoots are resuming amid COVID-19 pandemic. “I am going to start shooting in November. I don’t know what to expect at this moment. I keep sanitising the sets and stuffs I use. It is damn scary to work amid this pandemic.”

Yet Nushrratt is hopeful that things will get better eventually.

The bilateral ties between India and the UAE are at an all-time high, says Vipul, the Consul General of India in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

According to Vipul, the momentum of high-level visits between the two countries has intensified in 2018. The most important was Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the UAE in February. India’s presence as the Guest of Honour country at the World Government Summit was reflective of our close relations. The laying of the foundation stone of the temple in Abu Dhabi during the visit was truly a millennium moment.

From the Indian side, there have also been visits of our Minister of Petroleum and Skill Development, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Sports & I&B as well as Chief Ministers of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh this year. From the UAE side, I would particularly like to mention the recent visits of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Omar Bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of Artificial Intelligence, to India.

There have been several exchange programs between the two sides in preparation for India’s participation in Expo 2020. “In keeping with our comprehensive strategic partnership, we are also taking our co-operation to new and high technology areas such as artificial intelligence and space.

The CG feels that Indians are very well integrated in the UAE, and enjoy a good life and rapport here. At times people do get into problems due to various reasons such as loss of jobs, overstay and legal issues and the Consulate does try to help resolve such issues within the legal framework of the UAE.

The CG continues, “We try and resolve various issues that Indians might face while being in the UAE. One of the major ways to do it is by guiding them about local rules, laws, and procedures. We also extend legal and psychological counseling through our outsourcing agency – the Indian Workers Resources Centre. In deserving cases, we also help people financially from the Indian Community Welfare Fund by paying for their return ticket to India.

“I must say that we see a lot of Indians coming to the UAE looking for a job on visit visas and falling into trouble as they may not be able to find a job. This should not be done, especially workers should come only through registered agents in India and through the Government of India’s e-migrate system”, the CG advises.

Vipul notes, ” We do marital counseling and try our best to resolve family issues though this is very difficult. We also support NRI women facing marital issues by way of legal counseling. The Government of India has taken several steps to safeguard women who may be very vulnerable away from India.”

‘Year of Zayed’

The Indian community continues to pay tribute under “Year of Zayed” through various programs and activities. As the largest community in the UAE, I think Indians have been the biggest beneficiaries of the UAE that late Sheikh Zayed built. All Indians readily associate with the values of peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and progress that he professed. We are prepared to help the people in every manner possible, including financially if they do not have the means to support themselves.
