Dubai: UAE-based artists and designers now have until June 26, 2025, to submit their creative projections for a chance to see their work showcased on the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.
Real estate giant Emaar announced the deadline extension for its Projection Design Competition, initially scheduled to close on May 26, following overwhelming interest from local creatives.
The contest invites artists, animators, and motion designers residing in the UAE to submit a three-minute video or animation that embodies the innovative and creative essence of Dubai. The winning entry will be displayed on the iconic LED façade of the Burj Khalifa and awarded a cash prize of Dh100,000.
“This is more than just a competition,” said an Emaar spokesperson. “It’s an opportunity for homegrown talent to be seen on a global stage and inspire millions around the world.”
While the Burj Khalifa has featured digital displays for international campaigns, national celebrations, and tributes, public competitions of this kind are rare. Emaar’s open call provides UAE-based individuals a unique chance to contribute to the visual storytelling of one of the world’s most recognized landmarks.
To ensure quality and compatibility with the tower’s massive LED exterior, submissions must meet specific projection-mapping technical standards. Full specifications and submission guidelines are available at www.burjkhalifa.ae/open-call. Completed concepts and files must be emailed to opencall@emaar.ae.
Emaar emphasized that the deadline extension is aimed at giving more artists — both emerging and established — the opportunity to take part. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, and how effectively they reflect the dynamic identity of Dubai.
