Baghdad Declaration Praises Oman’s Pivotal Role in Enhancing Regional Security and Stability

Muscat : The final communiqué of the recent summit lauded Oman’s “wise and balanced” approach in addressing critical regional challenges, highlighting its active support for political solutions in Yemen and its constructive role in fostering consensus on the Iranian nuclear issue.

The declaration also emphasized Oman’s commitment to safeguarding maritime navigation in the Red Sea in line with international law, recognizing this effort as vital to maintaining regional stability.

Oman’s delegation to the summit was led by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, representing His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. The delegation included key officials such as His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs; His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs; His Excellency Dr. Said bin Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy; and His Excellency Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States.

A spokesperson for the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude for the recognition accorded by the Baghdad Declaration, reaffirming Oman’s unwavering commitment to good neighbourliness, mutual respect, and the pursuit of peaceful resolutions through dialogue.
