Attack on CPM office in TVM: Three ABVP activists under police custody

The important development comes a day after the attack on the office. It is learnt that the officials had identified the accused earlier but were not able to nab them due to protest of BJP activists.

Thiruvananthapuram: Police took three ABVP activists into custody on Sunday early morning over the attack on CPM district committee office in Thiruvananthapuram. The three were taken into custody from a hospital in Attukal. Thampanoor police have been questioning them..

The important development comes a day after the attack on the office. It is learnt that the officials had identified the accused earlier but were not able to nab them due to protest of BJP activists.

The police on Saturday evening visited the hospital but BJP activists prevented them and questioned how people on treatment can be named accused. The officials had retrieved CCTV visuals of the incident. Reportedly they had been camping near the hospital at night. Later, the three were taken into custody early morning. Meanwhile, political leaders, including CM Pinarayi Vijayan, had visited the attacked office.
