It was in 2015 that Alphonse Puthren captured the hearts of Indian film lovers with his movie ‘Premam’. The film which starred Nivin Pauly in the lead role was a blockbuster at the Mollywood box-office, and it even collected a decent sum of money from theaters outside Kerala. However, after Premam, Alphonse Puthren took a hiatus of five years from the industry, and audiences were quite disappointed with this.
But now, Alphonse has announced his next movie titled ‘Paattu’. The director himself confirmed the news on his Facebook page, and the news is now receiving positive responses from audiences who are eagerly waiting to see Alphonse’s magic once again on screen.
“My next feature film’s name is Paattu (song). Fahadh Faasil is the hero of the movie. Produced by UGM Entertainments (Zacharia Thomas and Alwin Antony). This time I’ll be doing music too. It will be in the Malayalam language. Will update the rest of the Crew and Cast members while the feature film progresses,” wrote Alphonse on his Facebook page.

Just like Paattu, Premam was also announced without much hype, and the makers did not even release the trailer of the movie. Before the release of Premam, the makers just released a song featuring Anupama Parameshwaran and Nivin Pauly. The song became a huge hit, and it played a crucial role in drawing audiences to the theaters.
However, when the movie had its release, audiences were surprised to know that the song released before the theatrical premiere was just the beginning of a colourful onscreen festival. With his film-making elegance, Puthren captured a million hearts, and despite piracy issues, Premam ran for more than a hundred days in several theaters.
Expectations surrounding Paattu are already sky-high, as this film marks the union of Puthren and an amazing performer like Fahadh Faasil. Stay tuned with the Gulf Indians for more updates about this flick.
