Akshay Kumar becomes sixth highest-paid actor in the world

Forbes has named Akshay Kumar as the sixth highest-paid actor in the world, according to an annual tally released by the magazine. Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson, popularly known as ‘The Rock’ has topped the list, as he earned $87.5 million from June 01, 2019, to June 01, 2020. The earnings of Johnson include the $23.5 million he got as remuneration from Netflix to star in the thriller Red Notice.

Ryan Reynolds who is co-starring with Dwayne Johnson in the Red Notice has garnered the second spot in the list with an earning worth $71 million. It should be noted that Reynolds has been paid a hefty $20 million for the movie Six Underground.

Mark Vahlberg ($58 million) has been named in the third spot, and he is followed by Ben Affleck ($55 million) and Vin Diesel ($ 54 million).

By garnering the sixth spot, Akshay Kumar emerged as the only Bollywood star in the top ten list of global celebrities. According to Forbes, Akshay has apparently earned $48.5 million, and most of his earnings came from product endorsements.

Akshay Kumar is currently awaiting the release of his new movie ‘Laxxmi Bomb’ which is being directed by Raghava Lawrence. The film is a remake of the Tamil movie ‘Kanchana 2: Muni’, which starred Raghava Lawrence in the lead role. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the makers of the film postponed the theatrical release of this flick.

According to the latest updates, ‘Laxxmi Bomb’ will be released on Disney+Hotstar on September 11, 2020.
