85 confirmed with COVID-19 on June 13, 1,045 cured

Eighty-five people were confirmed with COVID-19 on June 13, according to a press release from the Health Minister’s office. Fifteen in Malappuram, 14 in Kannur, 12 in Kozhikode, nine each in Alappuzha and Kasargod districts, eight in Palakkad district, seven in Ernakulam, four each in Idukki and Thrissur districts one each in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Wayanad were confirmed with the virus.
Of these 53 people arrived from abroad (Kuwait – 21, UAE – 16, Saudi Arabia – 7, Oman – 4, Nigeria – 3, Russia – 3) and 18 from other States (Maharasthra – 6, Tamil Nadu – 5, Delhi – 4, Rajasthan – 1, West Bengal – 1, Uttar Pradesh – 1). Four each in Malappuram and Kannur, and one each from Kozhikode and Idukki districts got the virus through contact.
Four health workers (one in Kozhikode and three in Malappuram district) got the virus through contact and 1,342 people are under treatment after confirmation, A total of 1, 045 people were cured of the disease.
There are 2,35, 418 people in various districts under observation and of these 2,33,429 people are in house/institutional quarantine, 1,989 in hospitals and 223 were admitted to hospitals.
In the last 24 hours 5,17o samples were examined. Until now, samples of 1,09,729 individuals were sent for examination.
Two new hotspots were declared on June 13 in Naduvil and Pappinasher in Kannur district, while 13 areas have been removed from the hotspot list.
