Sixty-five people have been confirmed with COVID-19 in Kerala on June 10, according to Minister for Health K.K. Shailaja.
Ten from Kozhikode district, nine from Thrissur (one died), seven from Malappuram, six each from Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad districts, four each from Kollam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Wayanad and Kannur districts three each from Pathanamthitta and Kottayam districts and one from Alappuzha district were confirmed with the viral infection.
Of those infected, 34 arrived from abroad (the UAE – 22, Kuwait – 4, Oman – 3, Nigeria – 2, Russia – 2, Saudi Arabia – 1), and 25 from other states (Maharashtra – 9, Tamil Nadu – 9, Delhi – 3, Karnataka – 1, Arunachal Pradesh – 1, Gujarat – 1, Uttar Pradesh – 1). Two each in Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram districts and one in Kozhikode district got infected through contact.
With the samples of Kumaran, 87, who died on June 7 in Thrissur having been confirmed with COVID-19, the total number of people who died in the state from the virus reached 17. Meanwhile, the test samples of 57 people who were confirmed with the viral infection turned negative.
With 53,545 people reaching the state through airports, 1,621 through seaport and 1,28,738 through railways, and 1,621 through check posts, a total of 2,07,194 have arrived in the state. A total of 2,10592 people are under observation in various parts of the state. Of these 2,08,748 are under House or institutional quarantine and 1,844 are under observation in hospitals, while 206 have been admitted in hospitals.
