COVID-19 has been confirmed for 6,491 people in Kerala on November 25. The district-wise break-up is Kozhikode 833, Ernakulam 774, Malappuram 664, Thrissur 652, Alappuzha 546, Kollam 539, Palakkad 463, Thiruvananthapuram 461, Kottayam 450, Pathanamthitta 287, Kannur 242, Wayanad 239, Idukki 238 and Kasaragod 103.
A total of 66,042 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 9.83. Routine sample, Sentinel sample, CBNAT, TRUNAT, POCT. PCR, RT A total of 60,18,925 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.
Twenty-six deaths have been confirmed due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 2,121. Further deaths will be confirmed after NIV testing in Alappuzha.
Ninety-five of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 5,669 people were infected through contact. The contact source of 663 people is not clear. Kozhikode 781, Ernakulam 566, Malappuram 628, Thrissur 634, Alappuzha 530, Kollam 536, Palakkad 255, Thiruvananthapuram 363, Kottayam 444, Pathanamthitta 220, Kannur 197, Wayanad 219, Idukki 201 and Kasaragod 95 were affected by the disease.
Sixty-four health workers were affected by the disease. Ernakulam 16, Kannur 13, Kozhikode 8, Pathanamthitta 7, Thiruvananthapuram 5, Thrissur 3, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Palakkad, Kasaragod 2 each Malappuram, Wayanad 1 each health workers were affected.
The test results of 5,770 people who were diagnosed with the disease were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 461, Kollam 175, Pathanamthitta 170, Alappuzha 899, Kottayam 436, Idukki 181, Ernakulam 750, Thrissur 631, Palakkad 349, Malappuram 588, Kozhikode 678, Wayanad 71, Kannur 320 and Kasaragod 61 were found to be negative today. With this, 65,106 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 5,11,008 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.
There are currently 3,14,676 people under surveillance in various districts of the State. Of these, 2,98,616 are under home / institutional quarantine and 16,060 in hospitals. A total of 1,853 people were admitted to hospitals.
There are three new hotspots. The new hotspots are Akalamkunnu (Cantonment Zone Ward 3) in Kottayam district, Thiruvaniyoor (Sub Wards 1 and 10) in Ernakulam district and Chathannur (Sub Ward 2) in Kollam district. Thirteen areas have been excluded from the hotspot. With this, there are a total of 546 hotspots.
