5,980 people confirmed with COVID-19 in Kerala on Feb 10

While 5,980 people were confirmed with COVID-19 in Kerala on February 10, 5,745 were cured of the infection. Of the infected 5,457 were infected through contact and the source of infection for 386 was unknown. Forty one health workers were also infected, according to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
With 18 more people dying of the infection the total touched 3,920.
The situation continues to be serious and steps have been taken to increase RTPCR tests. A total of 80,106 tests have been carried out in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate is at 7.47%.
Work has been started at the district level to reduce the rate of infection so as to bring the death count down, the Chief Minister said.
While 220 out of 1,000 people were infected at the all India level, in Kerala it was 116 per 1,000
