5,440 confirmed with COVID-19 on Nov. 11; 24 deaths

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 5,440 people in Kerala on November 11. The district-wise number of affected was Ernakulam 644, Thrissur 641, Kozhikode 575, Malappuram 540, Kollam 488, Alappuzha 479, Thiruvananthapuram 421, Kottayam 406, Kannur 344, Palakkad 306, Idukki 179, Kasaragod 159, Pathanamthitta 153 and Wayanad 105.

Twenty-four deaths have been confirmed due to COVID-19. Dasan (62) from Sreekaryam, Thiruvananthapuram, Chandrika (68) from Azoor, Shamsudeen (70) from Ayur, Kollam, Gangadharan (86) from Krishnapuram, Alappuzha, Sushilamma (72) from Kadakkarappally, Kunjikutty (76) from Mavelikkara, Murali (Muvattupuzha) from Ernakulam ( 66), Jameel (63) from Thrissur Kechery, Kuttappan (80) from Mazhuvanchery, Gopalakrishnan (74) from Poonkunnam, Madhavi (85) from Paralam, Peter (83) from Iringalakuda, Kumaran (71) from Kodannur, Khalid (65) from Kadappuram, Sankaran (88) from Vellatanur, Ammini (77) from Vellatannoor, Sugathan (78) from Kunnamangalam, Kunjumon (69) from Eramangalam, Malappuram, Muhammad Isin (3.5 months) from Ottai, Kunjumuhammed (64) from Edakara, Pozhuthana, Wayanad, Ayyammad (57) from Kannur, Kunhiraman (67) from Panur, Kannur, Rosamma (94) from Peravoor and KP Aboobacker, (63) from Kuruva, This brought the total death toll to 1,692. Further deaths will be confirmed after NIV testing in Alappuzha.

Of the total, 105 of those diagnosed with the disease were from outside the State. A total 4,699 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 585 was not clear. Ernakulam 471, Thrissur 621, Kozhikode 554, Malappuram 489, Kollam 482, Alappuzha 444, Thiruvananthapuram 333, Kottayam 402, Kannur 238, Palakkad 183, Idukki 146, Kasaragod 157, Pathanamthitta 87 and Wayanad 92 were affected by the disease.

The disease affected 51 health workers. Thiruvananthapuram 12, Ernakulam 9, Kannur 7, Thrissur 6, Malappuram 5, Palakkad, Kozhikode 3 each, Kollam, Pathanamthitta 2 each, Wayanad and Kasaragod 1 each were affected by the disease.

 

The test results of 6,853 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 881, Kollam 578, Pathanamthitta 230, Alappuzha 471, Kottayam 623, Idukki 93, Ernakulam 845, Thrissur 834, Palakkad 172, Malappuram 906, Kozhikode 825, Wayanad 105, Kannur 138 and Kasaragod 152 had negative results today. With this, 81,823 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. A total of 4,02,477 people have so far been freed from COVID.

 

There were currently 3,14,684 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 2,94,358 were under home / institutional quarantine and 20,326 in hospitals. A total of 2219 people were admitted to hospitals.

During the last 24 hours, 48,798 samples were tested. A total of 50,98,433 samples have so far been sent for testing, including routine samples, Airport Surveillance, Pooled Sentinel, CBNAT, Trunat, CLIA and Antigen Assay.

 

There were nine new hotspots. Koruthodu (Containment Zone Ward 10) in Kottayam district, Manjur (5), Veliannur (5), Edavanakkad (9) in Ernakulam district, Kannamali (sub ward 5), Paralam (2) in Thrissur district, Erumappetti (5) and Peringana in Pathanamthitta district.

 

Four areas were excluded from the hotspot list. With this, there were a total of 617 hotspots.
