3,966 confirmed with COVID-19 on Nov.27, 23 dead

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 3,966 people in Kerala on November 27. The district-wise number of infected were Malappuram 612, Thrissur 525, Ernakulam 397, Kozhikode 374, Palakkad 351, Kottayam 346, Thiruvananthapuram 262, Alappuzha 236, Kollam 229, Pathanamthitta 159, Idukki 143, Kannur 131, Wayanad 105 and Kasaragod 96.

A total of 39,108 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 10.14 per cent. Routine sample, Sentinel sample, CBNAT, TRUNAT, POCT. PCR, RT A total of 61,14,029 samples have been sent for testing so far, including LAMP and antigen testing.

Twenty-three deaths have been confirmed due to COVID-19. Valsala (64) from Narvamoodu, Thiruvananthapuram, Radhakrishnan (70) from Pallikkal, Kunjumol (64) from Pathanamthitta, KR Balan (66) from Konni, Thomas (87) from Cherthala, Alappuzha, Prasanna (63) from Thalavady, Annamma Raju (71) from Chengannur, Ouseppe (68) from Omalur, Kottayam, PC Philip (72) from Mallassery, KC John (80) from Kottayam, Leela Chandrasekhar (42) from Kottayam, Gracie John (65) from Chellanam in Ernakulam, Joseph Babu (68) from Aluva, Achumma (67) from Punnayoor, Thrissur, Devaki Amma (85) from Madakathara, Ibrahim (75) from Kaipamangalam, K.A. Joseph (65) from Kodungallur, IS. Vasu (80) from Guruvayur, Karthayani (69) from Kokkur, Malappuram, Ummachutty (80) from Kondotty, Ali (74) from Malappuram, Narayanan (71) from Bhuthanam and MP Hassan (87) from Karikamkulam, Kozhikode. This brings the total death toll to 2,171. Further deaths will be confirmed after NIV testing in Alappuzha.

Eighty-one of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 3,348 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 488 is not clear. Malappuram 574, Thrissur 507, Ernakulam 261, Kozhikode 340, Palakkad 176, Kottayam 341, Thiruvananthapuram 177, Alappuzha 224, Kollam 219, Pathanamthitta 120, Idukki 121, Kannur 107, Wayanad 98 and Kasaragod 83 were affected by the disease.

Forty-nine health workers were affected by the disease. Kozhikode 9, Thiruvananthapuram 7, Kollam, Kannur 6 each, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kasaragod 4 each, Palakkad 3, Malappuram 2, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki and Wayanad one each.

The test results of 4,544 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 334, Kollam 378, Pathanamthitta 127, Alappuzha 251, Kottayam 202, Idukki 174, Ernakulam 476, Thrissur 826, Palakkad 228, Malappuram 779, Kozhikode 455, Wayanad 93, Kannur 136 and Kasaragod 85 were negative. With this, 63,885 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 5,21,522 have so far been freed from COVID-19.

There are currently 3,13,608 people under surveillance in various districts of the State. Of these, 2,97,531 are under home / institutional quarantine and 16,077 in hospitals. A total of 1,594 people were admitted to hospitals.

There were two new hotspots. The new hotspots are Alur (Continent Zone Ward 11) in Thrissur district and Kunnathunadu (13) in Ernakulam district. Twenty areas have been excluded from the hotspot. With this, there are a total of 527 hotspots.
