Two clinics on wheels are travelling to different areas in Dubai to administer Covid-19 vaccines. The clinics staffed by 11 nurses and doctors have vaccinated 7,688 people against the coronavirus in under a month.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) is carrying out the mobile vaccination drives in collaboration with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
The mobile clinics have been deployed as part of the Wellness on Wheels (WoW) initiative, a project launched by the MBRU to provide medical assistance. They administer the jabs across 11 vaccination points.
The third dose of Sinopharm vaccine can be taken by those who have less immunity against diseases, people with chronic illnesses and who belong to the high-risk group, UAE doctors have said.
A small number of people in the UAE have received a third Covid-19 vaccine ‘booster’ shot which aims to kick in an immune response against the virus.
The modified third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine should boost antibodies development and lead to a better immune response against variants of the virus as well.
