There is a serial killer in town, says Arvind Kejriwal on CBI raids

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Friday said the CBI FIR against him was “completely fake”, and alleged that the BJP-ruled Centre is acting like a serial killer to eliminate state governments

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday accused the BJP of conspiring against elected governments and toppling them using the same tactics such as ED and CBI raids. He said the saffron party is using the same pattern for Delhi too. “Shehar mai ek serial killer aaya hai. Janata sarkar chunti hai, ye gira dete hai…(There’s a serial killer in town. People elect a govt, they (BJP) topple it…,” he said.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Friday said the CBI FIR against him was “completely fake”, and alleged that the BJP-ruled Centre is acting like a serial killer to eliminate state governments. He was speaking during the special session of the Delhi Assembly. “Conduct 1000 more raids but you will not find anything on me. I’ve worked towards moving the education of Delhi forward, that’s the only thing I am guilty of. They aren’t able to digest the world praising what we’ve done,” he said.

The one-day special session of Delhi Assembly is currently underway amid ruckus in the House with both the BJP and AAP raising slogans against each other. BJP MLA’s protest outside the Delhi Assembly and raised slogans demanding Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s arrest and removal from cabinet over the controversy surrounding the Excise Policy 2021-22. Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla on Friday marshalled out all BJP MLAs for the entire day of the special session over a video recording by saffron party legislator Ajay Mahawar.

The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has called for a special session of Delhi Assembly Friday amid a political slugfest between the AAP and BJP over central probe agencies’ action in the Kejriwal government’s excise policy and the former accusing the BJP of trying to lure its MLAs. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ramesh Bidhuri alleged that the ruling party has made the Assembly a “political arena”. “Convening a one-day session is a mockery of democracy,” he added.
