COVID-19 has been confirmed for 2,655 people in Kerala on September 5. This is the first time in the State that so many people have been newly diagnosed with the disease. While 2,111 people were cured, there were 21,800 people under going treatment.
A total of 2,433 of those diagnosed with the viral infection were infected through contact. This includes 61 health workers. Eleven people have been confirmed as having died due to corona on Septemeber 5. During the last 24 hours, 40,162 samples were tested.
Thiruvananthapuram has the highest number of newly confirmed corona. The results of 590 people in the district are positive. In Kasargod district, 276 people have been newly diagnosed with the disease.
