1,549 cases of COVID-19 detected in Kerala on March 29

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 1,549 people in Kerala on March 29. The district-wise number of infected are reported in Kannur 249, Ernakulam 184, Kozhikode 184, Thiruvananthapuram 155, Malappuram 134, Kasaragod 98, Kollam 92, Palakkad 88, Thrissur 88, Kottayam 85, Pathanamthitta 60, Idukki 53, Alappuzha 48 and Wayanad 31.
COVID-19 has been confirmed in the last 24 hours for 2 people from South Africa. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 111 people from the UK (103), South Africa (7) and Brazil (1). Of these, 104 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
A total of 37,337 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 4.14. A total of 1,30,50,880 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.
It has been confirmed today that 11 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,590.
Today, 68 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 1337 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 133 is not clear. The affected areas are Kannur 189, Ernakulam 173, Kozhikode 171, Thiruvananthapuram 121, Malappuram 127, Kasaragod 83, Kollam 91, Palakkad 43, Thrissur 87, Kottayam 80, Pathanamthitta 51, Idukki 49, Alappuzha 44 and Wayanad 28.
Eleven health workers were affected by the disease. Kannur 4, Kasaragod 3, Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki, Ernakulam and Kozhikode 1 each affected the health workers.
The test results of 1,897 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 98, Kollam 114, Pathanamthitta 136, Alappuzha 99, Kottayam 173, Idukki 30, Ernakulam 508, Thrissur 201, Palakkad 51, Malappuram 204, Kozhikode 41, Wayanad 29, Kannur 170 and Kasaragod 43 were tested negative today. With this, 24,223 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are undergoing treatment. 10,90,419 people have been released from COVID-19 so far.
There are currently 1,31,085 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,27,212 are under home / institutional quarantine and 3,873 in hospitals. A total of 487 people were admitted to the hospital today.
Today there are two new hotspots. Three areas were excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 356 hotspots.
