151 people confirmed with COVID-19 in Kerala on July 1, 131 cured

On July 1, 151 new active cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Kerala. At the same time, 132 patients under treatment have tested negative today, the highest number of recoveries being reported on a single day,Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.
Of the newly diagnosed cases, 86 have come back from foreign countries and 51 from other states.13 are cases of infection through contact. A 68-year old who committed suicide in Kozhikode district on June 27 has also tested positive for COVID.
The district-wise details of those infected are 34 people from Malappuram district, 27 in Kannur district, 17 from Palakkad district, 16 in Thrissur district, 12 from Ernakulam district, 10 in Kasargod district, eight in Alappuzha district, six each from Pathanamthitta and Kozhikode district, four each in Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam districts, three each from Kollam and Wayanad districts, and one from Idukki district.
The country-wise details are UAE – 23, Kuwait – 21, Saudi Arabia – 15, Qatar – 10, Oman – 9, Moldova – 3, Bahrain – 1, the United Kingdom – 1, Russia – 1, Yemen – 1 and Kazakhstan – 1. The State-wise details are Tamil Nadu – 17, Delhi – 11, Karnataka – 10, Maharashtra – 3, Uttar Pradesh – 1, Jammu and Kashmir – 1, Madhya Pradesh – 1 and Punjab – 1. Six CISF personnel in Kannur district are also among those infected. Seven people in Ernakulam district, three from Thrissur district and one each in Alappuzha, Kannur and Kasargod districts are those who contracted the disease through contact.
Twenty-one patients from Kollam district, 16 each in Thrissur and Kasargod districts, 15 from Kozhikode district, 13 in Kannur district, 12 from Malappuram district, 11 in Palakkad district, nine from Alappuzha district, six in Kottayam district, five from Pathanamthitta district, three in Thiruvananthapuram district, two each from Idukki and Wayanad districts, and one in Ernakulam, are those who were cured of Coronavirus.
So far, 4,593 cases of COVID 19 have been confirmed in the State and 2,130 patients are still undergoing treatment. There are currently 1,87,219 people under observation in different districts in the state. Of these, 1,84,388 are under home or institutional quarantine and 2,831 are in hospitals. 290 persons were admitted to the hospital today.
In the last 24 hours, 6,564 samples were tested. Till now, a total of 2,39,017 samples have been sent for testing and the results of 4,042 samples are yet to come. As part of Sentinel Surveillance, 50,448 samples were collected from high-risk groups and 48,442 samples were negative.
Seven new places were declared as hotspot today while 10 were excluded from the list. Presently, there are 124 hotspots in Kerala.
