138 confirmed with COVID-19 in Kerala

One hundred and thirty-eight people were confirmed with COViD-19 in Kerala on June 22. Of these 17 are in Malappuram district, 16 in Palakkad district, 14 in Ernakulam district, 13 each in Kollam and Kottayam districts, 12 each in Alappuzha and Thrissur districts, 11 in Thiruvananthapuram district, nine in Kasargod district, five each Kozhikode and Wayanad districts, four each in Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts and three in Kannur district.
Of those confirmed with the infection, 87 people had arrived from foreign destinations and 47 from other States in India. Those who had arrived from other countries included 43 from Kuwait, 14 from the UAE, 14 from Qatar, nine from Saudi Arabia, four from Oman one each from Bahrain, Russia and Nigeria. Those who had arrived from other States included 18 from Maharashtra, 12 from Tamil Nadu, 10 from Delhi, two each from West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, and one each from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Punjab. Four got the infection through contact. Two in Idukki district and one each in Thiruvananthapuran and Kottayam districts were infected through close contact.
The one in Thriruvananthapuram who got it through contact was a security personnel in the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.
The results of 88 people who were under treatment after being confirmed with COVID-19 have turned negative. There are 1,540 people under treatment after being confirmed with the infection.
There are 1,47,351 under observation in the various districts of the State. Of these 1,45,225 are under house/institutional quarantine and 2,126 in hospitals. Two hundred and forty-one people were admitted to hospitals on June 22. Four new hotspots were declared on June 22.
