On August 11, 1,212 people were confirmed with COVID-19 even as 880 patients were cured. Among those infected the source of the infection for 45 are not known, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.
Five deaths were also confirmed on the day.
Twenty-two health workers, one NDRF member and one journalist, both in Pettimudi, were also found infected with COVID-19.
The district-wise break-up of the infected is as follows: 266 in Thiruivananthapuram district, 261 in Malappuram district, 121 in Ernakulam deistrict, 118 in Alappuzha district, 93 in Kozhikode district, 81 in Palakkad district, 76 in Kottayam district, 68 in Kasargod district, 42 in Idukki district, 31 in Kannur district, 19 each in Pathanamthitta and Thrissur districts, 12 in Wayanad district and five in Kollam district.
