Worrying situation in Kerala: 623 new COVID-19 cases on July 15,432 through contact

As many as 623 people tested positive for coronavirus in Kerala on July 15, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said during his press conference. An alarming number of 432 cases had contracted the disease through contact. While 96 came from abroad, 76 came from other states. 196 patients were cured of the deadly disease.

It is for the second consecutive day Kerala is recording over 600 covid-19 cases. Sources of 37 are yet to be traced.

Fifty-six-year old Valsamma Joy from Rajakkad Idukki district died at a private hospital in Aluva on Friday, was declared covid positive, the Chief Minister said.

Abdul Khadar,69, who died on July 14, while under home quarantine was later tested positive. He is a native of Tirur in Malappuram and had returned from Bengaluru. However his death is yet to be confirmed as covid death by the government and further test results are awaited.
