Various projects under Kinfra on path of development

There are many specialised parks under Kinfra that are at various stages of development. The construction of Mega Food Park at Palakkad aimed at the export of food items has been completed. Forty acres have been sanctioned for 30 projects in the park. One of the units has started functioning on an experimental basis, Industries Minister E.P. Jayarajan said during a press meet on June 25.
The process of tendering for a rice technology in five acres has started.
The project report for the Petrochemical Park in Kochi being set up in 481 acres of FACT at Ambalamughal at a cost of Rs.1,200 crores is ready. An amount of Rs.300 crores is expected for developing basic facilities here. A 100-acre zone here is earmarked for Pharmaceutical industries also. A logistics hub would also be developed in the area taking into account the importance of the area, according to the minister.
Kinfra is also in charge of developing the Coimbatore-Kochi industrial corridor. It is estimated that 1 lakh jobs would be created and Rs.10,000 crore investments made through this project.
The first phase of a 15 acre Spices Park in Muttam, Thodupuzha will be started soon. Administrative sanction has been given for Biodivesity Park in Pinarayi. The land acquisition process was under way.

Industries Principal Secretary K. Elagovan and Kinfra Managing Director Santosh Koshy also attended the press conference.
