UAE weather: Alerts issued for blowing dust in parts of the country

Dubai: Dusty weather conditions are expected across parts of the country today, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). The forecast states dusty and cloudy weather conditions “over some areas especially northern, coastal and eastern areas”.

According to the NCM, there will also be a chance of rainfall during the daytime, today, with “another significant decrease in temperatures.”
Orange and yellow alerts for blowing dust was issued over Sheikh Khalifa International Road from Hamra toward Mahmiyyat Al Suqour in Al Dhafrah region. The alert states the blowing dust and sand will reduce the horizontal visibility to less than 2000 metres at times over some coastal and internal areas until 8 pm today, February 25.

Residents planning outdoor activities need to be on the lookout as rough to very rough sea conditions were reported in the Arabian Gulf.
The highest temperatures today will be between 16 and 21 degree Celsius, while temperature lows will be between 15 and 20 degree Celsius over coastal and island regions.

Moderate to fresh winds, and strong especially over the sea are expected today, with speeds reaching up to 45 km/hr.
