UAE Weather Alert: Temperature Dip and Strong Winds Expected on Friday

Dubai : Residents in various parts of the UAE, especially in Abu Dhabi, woke up to foggy skies this morning, while dusty weather conditions added to the reduced visibility. According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), strong winds of up to 40 km/hr caused blowing dust and sand, impacting several areas across the country.

Today’s temperatures are expected to range between 37°C and 43°C, with the lowest temperature recorded early this morning at 23.2°C in Mezaira, located in the Al Dhafra region.

Friday Forecast (June 20): Slight Drop in Temperatures

Looking ahead, the NCM has issued a forecast for Friday, June 20, indicating another drop in temperatures across the UAE. The weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy, particularly in some eastern regions.

Humidity levels will rise again during the night and into the early morning of Saturday, June 21, increasing the chances of fog or mist formation, especially over northern areas.

Winds and Dust to Continue

Residents should also prepare for continued windy conditions on Friday. The forecast indicates light to moderate northwesterly to southwesterly winds, which may intensify at times, causing blowing dust and sand in exposed areas.

Weather Advisory:

  • Drive with caution due to reduced visibility from fog or dust.
  • Stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak daytime heat.
  • Monitor official updates from the NCM for any changes in weather alerts.
