UAE Announces New Ministry for Foreign Trade; Major Cabinet Reshuffle Unveiled

Dubai: UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has announced a significant reshuffle in the federal Cabinet, with the most notable development being the creation of a new Ministry of Foreign Trade.

Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi has been appointed as the new Minister of Foreign Trade. Additionally, the Ministry of Economy has been renamed to the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, which will continue under the leadership of Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri.

National AI System to Play Key Advisory Role

Starting January 2026, the National Artificial Intelligence System will serve as an official advisory body to the Cabinet, the Ministerial Development Council, federal entities, and government-owned companies.

The AI system’s primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting decision-making processes
  • Providing real-time analysis of key decisions
  • Offering technical guidance
  • Enhancing the efficiency of government policies across all sectors

“With the world constantly evolving, it is essential that we prepare for the coming decades,” said Sheikh Mohammed. “Our priority is to ensure future generations enjoy prosperity and a dignified life.”
