Trucks with uncovered loads face Dh3,000 fine in RAK

Ras Al Khaimah: An ongoing traffic campaign by the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police, represented by the Traffic and Patrols Department in collaboration with the Media and Public Relations Department, is aming at securing the loads of heavy vehicles.

The campaign, titled “Secure Your Load is a Duty,” aligns with the Ministry of Interior’s strategy to enhance road safety and make transportation more secure.

According to the traffic laws and regulations in the country, heavy vehicles loaded in a manner that poses a danger to others are subject to a fine of Dh2,000 and six traffic points. Moreover, if objects fall or spill from the load of heavy vehicles, a fine of Dh3,000 and 12 traffic points will be imposed. Additionally, trucks with uncovered loads will incur a fine of Dh3,000 to ensure the safety and security of roads.

Ras Al Khaimah Police emphasised that overloading vehicles and trucks is a serious hazard to road users.

Overloaded vehicles, especially heavy trucks, are at higher risk of accidents, caused by the loss of control due to excessive weight.

Drivers may face legal consequences and penalties as a result.
