Thousands perform Ramadan’s last Friday prayers in Oman

MUSCAT: In a display of faith and spirituality, thousands of worshippers gathered to perform the last Friday prayer of the blessed month of Ramadan across mosques in Oman.

Speaking to The Arabian Stories citizens and residents expressed their joy to perform the last Friday prayers of Ramadan. “As we almost complete 30 days, its a joy and a blessing to perform the last Friday prayer in this great country,” said Ishaq Mohammed, an expat resident who performed the Friday prayer at Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) has called on the public to look out for and report sightings of the Shawwal crescent moon on Saturday. MERA has requested that anyone who sights the crescent report their observation by contacting the offices of the respective Walis or judges, or by using the provided telephone numbers.
