This Mollywood star will play the role of antagonist in Lucifer Telugu remake

Lucifer, the Mollywood movie that marked the directorial debut of Prithviraj Sukumaran was released in 2019, and it emerged as the biggest Malayalam blockbuster of all time. The film collected more than Rs 200 crore at the box-office; all credit goes to Prithviraj’s technical brilliance and the scintillating performances of Mohanlal and Vivek Oberoi. Now, the film is getting a Telugu remake which will have Chiranjeevi playing the lead role.

Who will play Vivek Oberoi’s character in Lucifer Telugu remake?

Earlier, the makers of Lucifer Telugu remake were quite keen to rope in Vivek Oberoi to reprise his character once again in this upcoming movie. However, Vivek has reportedly denied this offer, and the makers are now planning to make this movie with Mollywood star Rahman, playing the role of the lead antagonist.

It has been previously reported that Vijay Devarakonda and Rana Daggubatti will play extended cameos in this upcoming film. Veteran actress Suhasini will be reprising the role played by Manju Warrier in the original.

Sujeeth’s dark memories surrounding Saaho

The Telugu remake of Lucifer will be directed by Sujeeth, who has previously helmed the mega-budget movie Saaho, with Prabhas in the lead role. Even though released with huge pre-release hype, the film failed to live up to the expectations and it emerged as a flop at the box-office.

As Sujeeth is directing Lucifer’s Telugu remake, several film critics believe that the young filmmaker might not be capable enough to portray the film with its complete intensity on screen. It should be noted that Lucifer’s script has several layers, it was Prithviraj Sukumaran’s impeccable filmmaking skills which made this flick a memorable experience.

In the meantime, Chiranjeevi is currently working with Koratala Shiva in his new movie named Acharya. The film is expected to be a clean commercial entertainer, and it will have all the necessary elements needed to satisfy megastar fans.
