Ten-year-old girl raped by temple priest in Bengaluru

In a shocking development, a 62-year-old temple priest has been arrested for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl in Bengaluru. According to reports, the alleged incident took place on November 24, and the accused raped the girl inside his daughter’s house in Devanahalli.

The accused Venkataramanappa, was reportedly visiting his daughter who lives with her husband in Devanahalli. On November 24, when his daughter and son-in-law went out of the house, Venkataramanappa saw a girl playing outside the house.

The priest called the girl to the house by offering her sweets, and later raped her. The girl was living near Venkataramanappa’s daughter’s house, and her father is running a scrap shop.

As the girl did not return home, her father started searching, and finally came to know that she went inside the priest’s house. When the father knocked the door, he saw the girl coming out crying.

The girl soon narrated the incident to her father, and the police was soon informed. The priest has been now booked for charges under rape and POCSO. According to police officials, the priest has confessed to committing the crime.
