<p><strong>BHOPAL:</strong></p>
<p>Fifteen people were killed and at least 20 were injured when a bus they were travelling in fell from a bridge in Madhya Pradesh&#8217;s Khargone on Tuesday, state Home Minister Narottam Mishra said, according to reports.</p>
<p>The bus, with 40 people on board, was on its way to Indore when it fell from a bridge in Khargone&#8217;s Dasanga village. Emergency services with the help of local villagers are engaged in rescue operation, Mr Mishra said.</p>

<p>Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced a compensation of ₹ 4 lakh to the families of those who were killed in the accident, ₹ 50,000 each to those who are &#8216;seriously&#8217; injured and ₹ 25,000 each to people with minor injuries. Chief Minister Chouhan&#8217;s government will also bear the costs of treatment of those injured.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi&#8217;s office announced that a compensation of ₹ 2 lakh each will be given to the families of those who died.</p>
<p>&#8220;An ex-gratia of ₹ 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased in the bus accident in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh. The injured would be given ₹ 50,000,&#8221; the PMO&#8217;s office tweeted.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>A probe is underway to determine the cause of the accident, the police said.</p>

<p>The Sharjah Emergency and Crisis and Disaster Management Team, in coordination with the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority, has approved the reopening of the Al Jubail Bus Station, and the operation of intercity transportation lines from 15th September, 2020. This comes after ensuring that all precautionary and preventive measures for the safety of passengers will be met.</p>
<p>Brigadier General Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director General of Central Operations at Sharjah Police, who heads the Executive Committee for Sharjah Emergency and Crisis and Disaster Management Team, visited Al Jubail Bus Station, to see the procedures in place.</p>
<p>The committee adopted a set of preventive measures to restart transportation services for passengers. This includes limiting passenger capacity in buses to 50 per cent, and other necessary preventive measures applied to all employees and drivers, to achieve comprehensive health security. Hand sanitisers will be installed in every bus and stickers to maintain social distancing will also be placed.Thermal body scanning of passengers will be done before boarding. They should wear masks during the entire duration of the trip.</p>
<p>Al Jubail bus station had been closed since April as part of COVID-19 precautionary measures.</p>
