Sonia Gandhi denies permission to KV Thomas for attending CPM Party Congress

There is no need to override the opinion of the KPCC which said the leaders shall not be permitted to attend the seminar.

New Delhi: Prof. KV Thomas, former MP  has been denied permission to attend a seminar organised as part of the CPM 23rd Party Congress in Kannur. Thomas had sent a request  for permission to Sonia Gandhi seeking permission to attend the seminar. Shashi Tharoor’s request was also rejected based on the opinion of KPCC and the MPs from the state.

According to the party high command, there is no need to override the opinion of the KPCC which said the leaders shall not be permitted to attend the seminar.

CPM Kannur district secretary M V Jayarajan had mentioned in the morning that K V Thomas would participate in the programme in violation of KPCC ban.

‘The party had sent invitation to Thomas  well in adavance. This is CPM’s national convention of the CPM
