SalamAir Achieves 88% On-Time Performance in Q2 2025, Marking 12% Improvement

MUSCAT: SalamAir has demonstrated a strong commitment to punctuality, achieving an impressive 88% On-Time Performance (OTP) rate during the second quarter of 2025. The OTP rate is a key industry metric that measures the percentage of flights departing within 15 minutes of their scheduled time, reflecting an airline’s operational efficiency and reliability.

From April to June 2025, the airline operated 5,144 flights, transporting 712,610 passengers, with 88% of its flights departing on time. This marks a notable 12% improvement from the first quarter’s OTP rate of 78%, highlighting SalamAir’s focus on maintaining schedule integrity amid ongoing operational and regional challenges.

Commenting on the milestone, Mohsin Al Balushi, General Manager of Ground Operations at SalamAir, stated:

“Punctuality is not just a performance metric—it’s a commitment we make to every passenger who flies with us. Reaching 88% OTP in Q2, surpassing global benchmarks, showcases the dedication of our teams and the continued trust of our valued customers.”

Since Q3 2024, SalamAir has taken a proactive step toward transparency and customer empowerment by publishing its OTP statistics every quarter. This initiative allows passengers to make informed travel decisions based on accurate, real-time operational performance data.

The airline calculates OTP by including all causes of delays, offering a realistic picture of its service reliability and the overall travel experience it provides. This achievement further reinforces SalamAir’s position as a reliable choice for travelers in the region.
