Royal Oman Police Honored with Arab Digital Economy Award for ‘Bayan’ Customs System

Oman : The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has been awarded the prestigious Arab Digital Economy Award 2025 in the Government Innovation category for its electronic customs system, “Bayan.” The accolade was presented during the Seamless Middle East 2025 Conference and Exhibition, held from May 20 to 22 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event was inaugurated by Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the United Arab Emirates.

Representing the ROP at the award ceremony were Brigadier Said bin Khamis Al Ghithi, Director General of Customs, and Colonel Abdullah bin Said Al Kalbani, Director General of Information Technology.

The “Bayan” system is recognized as one of the most advanced models of government digital integration in the region. The system enhances the efficiency of customs services and facilitates international trade between Oman and other countries. Notably, “Bayan” offers over 495 electronic services and maintains direct links with 74 government and private entities.

This recognition underscores the ROP’s commitment to digital transformation and its active role in developing technical systems in alignment with Oman Vision 2040. The Arab Digital Economy Award aims to honor individuals, institutions, and initiatives that effectively contribute to building the digital economy, developing technical solutions, and supporting smart transformation systems in line with sustainable development goals and international standards.

The Seamless Middle East 2025 Conference and Exhibition serves as a premier platform for showcasing advancements in digital commerce and technology, bringing together over 30,000 participants, including senior officials, sectoral experts, and leading figures in the global digital economy arena.
