Restaurants and other food outlets have to innovate to serve their customers in these testing times. They have to adhere to the new normal such as social distancing while dealing with customers. A Guwahati-based restaurant owner, S.N. Farid, has redesigned robots to assist health care professionals in the wake of COVID-19 crisis. These robots will give food and medicines to COVID-19 patients and facilitate virtual meetings with doctors.
The restaurant had been using robots for the past 1.5 years to serve drinks to customers. However, this is not the first of its kind of endeavour. Earlier, an Aurangabad student had designed a robot for contactless delivery of medical necessities to patients in hospitals.
Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on June 19 that 102 fresh covid-19 positive cases have been reported in Assam, with the total number of cases in the state going up to 5,006. Nine people have died so far of COVID-19 in the state.
